| Transcend’s global sales revenue for the month of May totaled US$61.89 million. As for the company’s monthly product shipment breakdown, flash memory products contributed to 63.3% of sales, while DRAM modules accounted for 20%. New product lines including digital music players, portable hard drives and digital photo frames amounted to 16.7% of the company’s total sales revenue. In addition, Transcend’s combined product shipment reached a total of 5.529 million pieces in May. The major contributors to this total were flash-based products, of which 2.77 million flash cards and 1.83 million flash drives were sold. Shipments of DRAM-based products totaled 657,000 pieces, and new product lines reached 272,000 pieces. |
| Transcend expects substantial shipment and sales revenue increases for both DRAM and NAND flash-based products in June, as the demand for memory products are predicted to rebound due to steady NAND flash and DRAM chip prices. In addition, the traditional peak season is coming, which is projected to increase demand for consumer electronics products worldwide. Transcend’s strategic product lines, including digital music players, portable hard drives and digital photo frames are expected to contribute more than ever to the company’s total sales revenue. |
