Since April 2008, Transcend has been the official sponsor of Junji Takasago, during which time it has held two successful workshops featuring the critically acclaimed Japanese nature photographer. On July 24 2009, Transcend will host another photography workshop entitled "Feel Mana in the Metropolitan—Aloha Pictures in Tokyo Part II" at the T`s Ginza conference center in Ginza, Tokyo.
Mana is the mysterious power of life that native Hawaiians believe is the true spirit of nature. During the workshop, Junji Takasago will share his interpretation of Mana in the beautiful Hawaiian scenery, animals, and people throughout his photographic masterpieces. Again, a total of 50 special guests who sign up to attend the event through Transcend’s website will be invited to the workshop.
Takasago is well known for his majestic underwater and marine life photography. People have long been attracted by the soothing power of the images he captures. He recently contributed to a Japanese TV program in memory of the 50th anniversary of Hawaii’s US statehood -- Hawaii became the 50th state of the United States of America in 1959. In May 2009, he was appointed to be a photography representative for the fifth Pacific Islands Summit Special Commemorative Exhibition backed by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan and Pacific Island Forum. http://konicaminolta.jp/plaza/schedule/2009may/islands/index.html
